Freddie and Elaine Tame (Wing Commander and Mrs)
On retiring from the RAF in 1968, our father worked for the Benevolent Fund, where he set up the Royal Air Force Dependants (Income) Trust. He was also Guild Secretary at St Clement Danes Church where – with our mother’s support as Chaplain’s secretary – he organised Sir Douglas Bader’s memorial service among many others. The RAF and the benevolent fund were a huge part of both of their lives. Dad died in 2009 and Mum 15 years later at the age of 100. Both lived remarkable lives. We miss them.
