Douglas Gordon Reich
Doug died on 5th April 2021, aged 98. He was a reconnaissance pilot flying P 51/2 Mustangs with II Sqn. He went into the Seine at 300mph in June 1944, was saved by his Mae West and was captured and sent to Stalag Luft 1, on the Baltic. He was liberated by the Russians in 1945. He gave many amusing and informative presentations about his time in the RAF and as a POW. He resumed his career in newspaper printing until 1983, when he retired to North Wales. His obituary was in The Times on 20.4.21.
